Family, Career and Community Leaders of America
 |
Learning through service in the community is one of today's strongest
educational trends. FCCLA is a student organization that has provided
real-world learning through service since 1945. It is the only
family-based student-led organization. |
 |
The FCCLA Community Service program guides students to develop, plan,
carry out, and evaluate projects to improve the quality of their life in
their communities. Through their projects, members can also experience
character development and improve their critical and creative thinking,
interpersonal communication, practical knowledge and career preparations. |
 |
At CBMS, FCCLA members will meet regularly and decide on a yearly theme
to plan and carry through on community projects. Officers will be
democratically elected from the organization's membership. |
 |
In addition, active members will have opportunities to compete in various
long-term projects and events at the state level to illustrate their
leadership, character development, career preparation, and critical and
creative thinking. |
