 Welcome to our website. Here at Crossett Brook Middle School our population of English Language Learners (ELLs) is on the rise, especially with our most recent Mesketian Turkish refugees resettling in Waterbury.  The purpose of this website is to inform the public about who our ELLs are and why they are here.  We hope you enjoy reading students' first hand accounts as to why they could no longer live in Russia, along with links to more in depth articles about their journeys.  If you are interested in learning some basic Russian and Turkish words, click on the "Learn Russian" link above.  You will also find some tasty Turkish recipes to try at home along with other interesting facts about their traditions.  This is still a work in progress but we hope you enjoy!
